Then and Now

My 3rd and 4th ESO students have been working on a very special project: talking about their past and present. They have done a very good job!!

Let's see some of the results:

by Ramona Grancea (3º A)

by Daniel Mata (3º A)

by Fran J. Martín -a.k.a. Paco P.- (3º A)

Don't you think I got rid of appearing in the project!! One of my students did his project on me. Isn't it great?

by Juan Antonio Leandro (3º A)

There are many more projects but as I haven't got your parents' consent to publish your pictures, I cannot post them. That's a shame!

Thank you so much for working so hard in this project. Keep on doing like this!!

Have a nice day!

Peace Day

The “School Day of Non-violence and Peace” was founded in 1964. It is also known as World or International Day of Non-violence and Peace.

It is a non-official, free and voluntary initiative of Non-violent Education, which is now practised in schools all over the world.

Teachers and students of all levels and from all countries are invited to take part, and because of that, last Friday 30th January we celebrated this day in our English lesson.

First, we listened to the song Imagine, by John Lennon. Next, we translated its lyrics, and then we represented the message of this song doing some drawings.

Let´s sing! Can you remember the missing words?

Imagine there’s no heaven
It’s easy if you ……….
No hell below us
Above us only ………..
Imagine all the ………
Living for today.

Imagine there’s no …………..
It isn’t hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion too.
Imagine all the ………….
Living life in …………..…

You may say I’m a dreamer
But I’m not the only ………..
I hope someday you’ll join us
And the world will be as …….

Imagine no possessions
I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
A brotherhood of man
Imagine all the people
Sharing all the world.

You may say I’m a dreamer
But I’m not the only …….
I hope someday you’ll join us
And the world will live as …….

The lyrics in Spanish for such a beautiful song are as follows:

Imagina que no hay cielo
es fácil si lo intentas
ningún infierno bajo nosotros
sobre nosotros solo cielo
imagina a toda la gente
viviendo para hoy…

Imagina que no hay países
no es difícil de hacer
nada por que matar o morir
ni tampoco religión
imagina a toda la gente
viviendo la vida en paz…

Puedes decir que soy un soñador
pero no soy el único
espero que algún día te nos unas
y el mundo será uno.

Imagina nada de posesiones
me pregunto si puedes
ninguna necesidad de avaricia o ansias
una hermandad del hombre
imagina a toda la gente
compartiendo todo el mundo…

Puedes decir que soy un soñador
pero no soy el único
espero que algún día te nos unas
y el mundo vivirá como uno.

Can you identify her parts of the body?
Read the sonnet and find out its meaning.

And Pablo Picasso didn't write but drew his mistress Dora Maar's body.
This is the Portrait of Dora Maar.
